Another Banner Year Ahead ?
This Year looks to be another banner year in western
New York! It is now November 4th Myself & My Wife Carol and Son Jeremy have been Bowhunting since October 15th
And have seen 7- different Buck so far since the opener. Things are slow now though, the weather has been just way too nice.
I have however had a couple of shot opportunities though, that I had held back on,as this past couple weeks I had spotted a
couple of real Bruisers traveling through My area and I am trying to hold out for a possible chance at them ,The
chances seem fairly good as the bucks are now responding better to my rattling & calling now and we have had a couple
of good frosts , with the peak of the rut just a couple weeks away & until now calling & rattling only seemed
to be bringing in the young Bucks , I did manage to bring in one very tall racked Buck looked to be 8-pt or so , but he offered
no shot opportunity that day. We will be heading back out today for a week or so.I will be updating this site upon my
return , Hopefully with good news lol!!!
So Until Then You Have Yourself
!!!A Great Safe Hunt!!!
(Remember: Enjoy The Great Outdoors)
A Birthday To Remember!!!!

This Was Also My First Buck !!!! |
Folks this is Carols Story in her own words
- Well it was November, 13-th My Birthday. Myself & husband Wally got up at 5:00 AM
as usual , However today would be different as Wally told me he wanted me to hunt his main stand as thats where he had been
having deer & Big Buck encounters all week with no shot opportunities. I was kinda shocked but he really wanted me too
have at least a shot at a deer so at 5:25 AM we kissed & wished each other good luck, then parted way's it was very calm
out & quiet as we had raked the leaves on all the paths leading to our stands. I was up in the stand & Ready by 5:40
am . It was about 6:30 when I heard the first noise comming from my right which leads to a swamp that seperates two woodlots.
However there are soooo many squirrels there I first thought they were making their first run for the acorn & Beechnuts
as they are very plentiful. A few moments later I heard a branch snap telling me that wasn't a squirrel. So I watched
in that direction a couple moments & saw a deer comming . I then grabbed my bow watched as the deer approached right towards
me slowly . As he did he stopped a couple times to feed on the abundant nuts available. Then he started right towards
me again at a slow pace, with not a clue I was in the stand. When the young buck got within 10-yrds I drew back just waiting
for the right angle. Well he then turned facing away from me he was at about 8 yrds at that point, with a perfect view from
his tail to his head which was facing away from me . As he started walking slowly away I took aim, made a little baaa
noise , The buck stopped!!! dead in his tracks looking around, as he did I placed my pin on his spine & let the arrow
fly !!! wham !!! down it went nearly in his tracks I checked my watch it was exactly 6:45 . A perfect spine
shot down between the shoulder blades he never took another step . I waited in my stand until he expired which was qwik. Talk
about the hunter hat dance!!! When I got down from the stand shaking so bad from adreanilin , Then realizing it was a
young Buck. Being my first buck made it even more exciting , Man I thought what a Birthday present . I radioed Wally
& he came right over to my location. I met him half way & decided to play a funny on him (hehe ) and suprize
him. So when I met him I told him I needed help finding my arrow as I had shot & missed one. Well when he got in the woods
he immediatly saw the deer & said honey you didn't miss!!! "you got em" there it is !!! I Just said laughingly you just
figured that out huh LOL . Well he couldn't have been more happy for me as he had taken a young buck himself a couple of day's
before. Well My Birthday turned out to be one of my Very Best because I got to share it with my New Husband .
Well folks as you can see Carol had a Blast on her B-Day & the quality time for me goes
without saying , My only regret being is my son Jeremy could'nt be there to share the hunt with us . Gun season opens on this
Sat. 11-17-2007 so were hoping to fill a few tags then as well & will update you during that season . So until then there
is still Bruiser Bucks roaming the property & You can bet myself & Carol will be out bright & early pryor to first
light in hopes of filling Our Buck tags.
So until next time You have yourself a Great Safe Hunt and Just Enjoy The Great OUTDOORS
don't foget to share it with your Kids & family
Until next
time May GOD Bless & keep you safe in all your endeavors.
