Opening Day was on the 17th of November this year.
Myself , my wife Carol , my nephew Robby, as well as my Son Jeremy , & Robby's
son Michael. We were all very excited about the opener this year as we have been seeing all kinds of bucks so far this year
. However Robby was only here for four day's as he Lives in Vermont, but comes here for the gun season as often as possible.
He shot & missed a couple of buck & does this year he said he'll be practicing alot for next season lol (he-he). However
he had seen so many deer here, being the first time hunting at my new cabin, that he will be returning every year now . He
& Son Michael had a blast with us, and we really enjoyed having them here to hunt with us . Well up to now we have
only taken two doe's during the gun season My Brother Bob & I both scored nice sized adult doe's on ThanksGiving Day.
Myself & wife Carol are back hunting alone now & have discovered that with all the shooting on the opener that
we have two enormous Bucks that have come in & have been staying at our property . Since the opener there has been
(Virtually NO Shooting Pressure) what so ever and (The Rut) is Finally in full swing & the Bucks are tearing up everything
in their path (trees etc.) ( rubs & scrapes everywhere) . We now have a great
chance at possibly bagging one of these Bruisers they look to be twins & both are better than 10 points . We also
have a 10 pointer that has been roaming the property since the beginning of Bow Season. I had called him in once ,
However he just would not come in close enough for a shot opportunity. I have not given up hope nor has Carol we are heading
back to camp this evening. As a rain front has moved into this area & is expected to turn to all snow. This snow
will aid us in finding the exact location of these various deer , so we at least have a better shot on setting up on them.
I will keep you posted on Our progress. Opening Day was like a war zone around both sides of my Camp . After talking to my
neighbor Bill, I was informed they took 7 deer on the opener, 2 bucks & 5 doe's by using drive techniques.
I've yet to talk to my other neighbor Scott, But am sure they have taken several deer with lots of (one shots) being fired.
well I'll keep you's posted on our Progress . Meanwhile I have put some Pics of the Thanksgiving Day doe's here for you
that Myself and Brother Bob took. Until next time Have a Great Safe Hunt & May GOD Bless You all

Today
is December 3rd
I had a hunch yestardy instead of staying in to watch the Buffalo
Bills score their Victory , With a storm front in the works , I decided to go out hunting . So at 2:00 pm. I got dressed &
went out behind where I Live . The tempature was around 38 degrees winds were light & variable. It was around 3:30 pm
when I came across several fresh tracks in the 4 inches or so of snow we had. So I decided to post there in that vicinity.
The area consist of a very large & deep revine , several revines in fact. To get to this area I take a shortcut through
a golf course which is uphill all the way.
Since the tracks were leading along the sides of this revine I posted myself
about midway down , so if deer approached from above or across the revine I would be in good position for a shot. Well at
4:10 pm it happend I was looking around & noticed to my right 5 or so deer were approaching qwickly . I hurridly
shouldered my shotgun as they headed up towards me, before they saw me. At that point I picked a deer to take , took aim &
fired!!! down went the doe I aimed at. They all turned out to be doe's & good sized ones as well. Upon firing the
rest of the doe's turned downwards & fled across the revine to the otherside & dissapered to the big woods on the
otherside. I was a happy hunter . I field dressed the doe & dragged her back to my apt. & Told my wife of the hunt
& how it took place . She told me the "Buffalo Bills won" I was happy to hear that. I decided my freezer was full &
I had already donated a deer to the food bank. So I called my Brother George asked him had he filled any tags yet . He said
he had not really had a chance to get out hunting in a couple of day's so I asked him if he wanted a doe ? he said yes
& was very thankful. Since my other brother Bob & My Wife Carol had all taken deer already , Myself & Carol took
4 deer total at that point & we are waiting to hopefully have a shot at one of the 3 BIG BUCKS we have seen the last
2 weeks now . Weather is going to play a Big part of the outcome of that , as we have some severe rain, snow , freezing rain
& lake affect snow & very high winds in access of 30-mph with gust expected to reachg 50 mph. So time will tell we
have until the 9th of December for shotgun . Then it turns to Bow & Muzzleloader season. So hopefully we will have a chance
at one of the Bruisers we have seen running the area of our Camp. I will keep you updated on our progress the rest of the
season .
Until
Then GOD Bless & May you have a Great Safe Hunt .
